Kazakhstan plans to adopt Japan's expertise in water body purification technologies and engage Japanese oceanologists in collaboration with the Scientific Research Institute of the Caspian Sea, as reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources.

During discussions between Kazakhstan's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurjan Nurzigitov, and the Japanese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Jun Yamada, potential collaboration in developing the country's water sector was explored.
"The ambassador noted that establishing a separate ministry dealing with the use and management of water resources is a very important and correct step, which should serve as an example to other states," the statement said.

Yamada emphasized Japan's interest in long-term and comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan. He mentioned that Japanese companies involved in water technology are interested in executing projects in Kazakhstan, particularly in water reuse initiatives.
"The ambassador expressed readiness to facilitate contacts between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and Japanese businessmen," the ministry noted.

Nurjan Nurzigitov, on his part, highlighted the ministry's interest in Japan's expertise in automating and digitalizing water-related industries. He proposed joint efforts to enhance the qualifications of Kazakhstani specialists by involving experts and scholars from Japan.
Furthermore, the Minister mentioned Kazakhstan's interest in water body purification technologies, citing the successful purification of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake. Additionally, Nurzigitov proposed involving Japanese oceanologists in collaboration with the Scientific Research Institute of the Caspian Sea.
At the meeting's conclusion, both sides agreed to continue discussions regarding potential areas of collaboration.
