Allows for the destruction of viruses and bacteria causing infectious diseases in water. Disinfection can be carried out chemically and physically.

Chemical disinfection is carried out by chlorine, ozone, chlorine dioxide, sodium hypochlorite solution with the use of appropriate equipment - chlorine dioxide generators, ozonators, electrolysis plants for the production of sodium hypochlorite, dosing stations for oxidizing solutions.

Physical disinfection is performed by ultraviolet radiation installations - UV systems.
